Dr. Michael Maher
Program Director of Italian Studies, Assistant Professor of Italian

Dr. Michael Maher was born in Worcester, Massachusetts. He has been teaching Italian language and literature at the College of Charleston since the Fall of 2010. Dr. Maher is a specialist in Italian Renaissance literature and chivalric epic poetry. His current research examines the vernacular literature of Medici Florence with a particular focus on popular poet Luigi Pulci. He is advisor to the Italian club and plays a major role in the various events sponsored by the Italian Studies Program.
