Dr. Martine Cuvillier-Hiers was born in Marseille and grew up in Cannes on the Cote d'Azur. She has been teaching at the College since 1987. She earned her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of South Carolina. Her areas of interest include Theatre, Romanticism and Colonial Literature of both French and English expression. Over the last ten years, she has participated in and directed several Abroad Programs for the French Department.
