Dr. Godwin Uwah

Dr. Godwin Uwah is a professor of French and Adjunct Associate Professor of Marketing. Born in Umuakagu Nsu, Nigeria, Dr. Uwah graduated from Alvan Ikoku College of Education in Owerri, Nigeria, and later studied in Dakar, Senegal and Tours, France. He received his Masters degree in French from Winthrop University and his Ph.D. in contemporary French Literature from Florida State University. Dr. Uwah has a multidimensional and eclectic approach to research. His subjects of interest include African women and choice, the existential aspects of waiting, and disenchantment in French African literature. His favorite authors are Beckett, Camus, Sartre, and Kourouma.
Dr. Uwah's teaching interests include African literature in French, Marketing in French, and French for Business. Dr. Uwah serves as a liaison for the School of Business and the School of Languages, Cultures, and World Affairs. He is also the advisor for International Business students with a language option, and advisor for the International Business Club.
